Independence day!

We had a great 4th of July! My sister was here from Provo and so we decided to celebrate her birthday a week early with a picnic on BI (were we used to live) with my grandparents. Before we left, we had a really good brunch and then we went to a park next to my grandparents house and had a lot of fun just talking and eating lots of yummy food. I love spending holidays with family!
Waiting for my family to get ready to leave--we love the 4th of July!
My little sis and I before we left. Her "gangster" face is priceless!! :)

Some of the kids and I at the park
Happy birthday girly!!!! My grandma brought an awesome angel food cake with strawberry sauce and whipped cream...
...and of course! My sister Maddy asked my brother to spray some whipped cream in her mouth and he "missed" her mouth :) She chased him around the park to get him back but he had used all of the whipped cream on her face! It was really funny!

Richard talking politics with my dad and grandpa. Its a tradition--whenever my grandpa, dad and Richard get together they always talk about politics :)
The little kids LOVE IT when Richard runs around with them on his shoulders. They are always asking for him to do it! :)
We went on a walk as a family and found the strangest anomaly EVER--this tree was growing OVER the chain link fence with the pole going right through it. My brothers face says it all--it was so weird.
Everyone before we walked down to the dock...we were all pretty excited! :)
My grandparents live on the water right across from Seattle so we sat on their dock to watch the fireworks in Seattle and other people had awesome fireworks they were shooting off from their own docks. It was SOOOO beautiful!!
It was so cute, my little sister kept saying "Happy birthday Caitie!!" after every firework--she's going to be pretty disappointed when her birthday comes with no fireworks :)
Watching fireworks together on the dock!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. That would be cool to sit on the dock to watch fireworks. Can't wait to see you this fall.

I can't believe how grown up Caitlin is! She's still 14 in my mind, and my kids favorite babysitter. Now my kids are old enough to babysit themselves (well, the two oldest, anyway)! Great to see pictures of the rest of your family, too. I've never even met your youngest sister.
