Baby's first 4th!

Our 4th of July was so fun!!

We even braved it and took Liam on his first road trip! We have a huge road trip (from ID to UT to WA) coming up in a month so we thought we would test the waters to see how Liam does on long car rides. Plus, some of Richards family were getting together for a mini reunion and one of my sister-in-laws hadn't met Liam, so we went for it! And luckily, we were happily surprised, that Liam did great on our trip! He either slept or quietly played the whole time we were driving, even when we were laughing and talking loud. So nice. He did have some hard times when he was tired because his schedule was all messed up or overwhelmed, but who isnt?! While we were there we played a lot with my sister-in-law and her family and visited, went on walks and watched movies. It was a lot of fun.

On the 4th of July we decided to be brave and keep Liam up past his bedtime so he could watch his first firework show. I was a little nervous about how he would react to loud noises when he was tired, but he did great! He LOVED them! He sat in my lap and watched them with an open mouth the whole time!

In fact, he slept from the time we got there until they started

The whole gang waiting for the show to start! We had the BEST seats! :) We found a little hill across from where they were going off so the fireworks were right on top of us it felt!

He woke up right in time!

Watching fireworks with Daddy! Because it was so dark, our flash went off twice and it blinded him every time! Poor guy.

hahaha...I had to put this one on! Sorry Debs! :) I just love her excited face! The fireworks were AWESOME!!

haha...like the firework coming out of my head?!

So Liam started this adorable thing on our trip. It started on our way over and after being confused what he was doing, we realized he would make a very deep noise to put himself to sleep. He would make the noise for a couple minutes and then fall asleep. Adorable. Luckily, we caught it on tape as we were driving home after the fireworks. Half way through you can see (with the lights of a red light) that he stopped making it because he had fallen asleep! But I must have made a noise with the camera because it woke him up and he grabbed for it. 

On another note, guess who turned 5 months old today?! Only this cutest boy in all the world:
